Broadway Bridge / ブロードウェイブリッジ / 百老匯橋

百老匯橋是一座很厲害的大橋。這座橋站在哈萊姆河上。它把曼哈頓區跟曼哈頓區連繫住。哈？什麼意思？是因為位在橋北側的大理石山地區是曼哈頓的一部分。為何？原來這個地區是曼哈頓島的最北端。後來有施工把哈萊姆河弄直，在大理石山周邊填地。結果現在大理石山看起來只是布朗克斯一部分而已，但還算是曼哈頓。

Broadway Bridge is an impressive structure that links Manhattan with, well, technically Manhattan.  Though given Marble Hill's strange status, you could be forgiven for saying that this bridge links Manhattan with the Bronx.

Marble Hill is a neighborhood that is still technically part of Manhattan, even though it is entirely cut off from the rest of the island, and is surrounded on three sides by the Bronx.  It used to be the northern tip of the island of Manhattan until a combination river-straightening project and landfill of the old riverbed resulted in this tip being separated from Manhattan Island and connected to the Bronx mainland.  This bridge goes over the Harlem River and connects Inwood with Marble Hill.

ブロードウェイ橋はマンハッタンをマンハッタンとリンクする橋だ。そう、私は打ち間違えた訳ではないよ。地図を見るとこの橋はマンハッタンとザブロンクスを繋げている様に見えるかもしれないが、この橋の北側にあるマーベルヒルという地域はマンハッタン島から切り離れているが、未だにマンハッタン区の一部になっている。以前マーベルヒルはマンハッタン島の最北端だったが、ハーレム川を直進させる工事とマーベルヒルの周りを埋め立てる工事が終わってから、マンハッタン区でありながらマーベルヒルはザブロンクスに繋がっている状態になってきた。
